brug in a big pot?

Santa Cruz, CA(Zone 9b)

Has anyone ever tried a brug in a big (20 gal or so) pot?

That is all I have my brugs in, because they have to be brought indoors here for the winter. Just make sure to water A LOT, feed, and they'll do great!

I have lots of brugs in pots. I only have 2 planted in the ground the rest are in pots. Most of mine are in smaller pots than that and they bloom. They need alot of water in pots.

I've grown brugs in 1 gallon and on up to oak barrels. They will bloom, but I believe more bloom is acquired from growing in bigger pots. I do have several in three gallon pots this year and have to water twice a day most days. This is Pink Passion and she is blooming in a three gallon pot.

Shirley, Pink Passion is gorgeous!!! One of your crosses?

No such luck. I grew it from seed I imported from Monika, a couple of years ago.

wonderearth, I'm sorry we hijacked your thread. Come on back.... and hopefully your question about pot size was answered.

jltbaw, it's been a challenge to grow brugs here for three years now. Our weather has become much drier and a whole lot hotter. Mites are hard to fight. Watering twice a day gets old too. LOL!

I bought "Jerald's Joy" the second week in June and set it in a 15 gallon grow bag. Used (roughly) half potting mix (not potting soil), a quarter soil and a quarter decomposed cow manure. The brug is in dappled sunlight. With temperatures here between 70 to 85, I've only had to water once every 4 or 5 days. This is the second bloom (three more are forming) but so far, no fragrance.
