Monarch (Danaus plexippus)
Wow! This is a fantastic photo.
I can't determine which I like better. The flowers, or the butterfly.
I LOVE that puple flower that it is on. I believe its some type of Liatris.
I also like the many flowers in the background.
Is this from your garden, or elsewhere.

Thanks for your kind comments. I don't think I'll see Monarchs any more now that I'm back in the UK, so I'm glad to have these photos.
Yes the plant the butterfly is on is a liatris. I took the photo at Longfellows greenhouse in Manchester Maine which is a wonderful garden center. That's why there are so many flowers in the background, as this was in the plant buying section :)
