Welcome to the Garden, From Florida--Michael, -[where is Valley Springs ?]

Valley Springs, CA(Zone 9a)

Thanks for the welcome(s)!

Valley Springs is in the foothills, almost (slightly to the right), exactly in the middle of CA. Still under the snow line, but above the fog line (mostly), so I think it's a great area for growing stuff. Now, if the wildlife, and pests would stay away, I'd be all set!

Erwin, TN(Zone 7a)

Once upon a time I built a power line from Murpheys to Stockton, stayed in a place called Valley Springs, --and talked to the Lockford/Clemments news, --I am sure I mis-spelled all of the names above, ---Michael

Valley Springs, CA(Zone 9a)

Yup, that sounds about right. Did you stay at the 9th Green Inn @ the golf course?

Erwin, TN(Zone 7a)

I rented a house there for 2 years , and had a lot of fun with some of the locals, --[some of it I remember,] --Was trying to remember the name of the Pub where the cop arested a man for drunken horse back riding, --but I can't remember, --It was a friendly town when I was there, --MichaelP

Drunken horseback riding? LOL!!!

Wilton, CA(Zone 9b)

Hi from Wilton, Ca. We're neighbors, I live about 30 miles north; near Galt, Elk Grove.
Our flower growing in these dry days is always a challenge. When I skip just one day of water, all thier little heads are droop.

Valley Springs, CA(Zone 9a)

Hi SacValley! Yup, I have to water everything daily, and Lord help me if something gets missed! Hot today huh? Was 102 at the nursery where I work!

Wilton, CA(Zone 9b)

yesterday my DH & I took a motorcycle ride up to Murphys and thought we'd die of exposure before we got home! Have you been up there to Ironstone Winery, they always have barrels of flowers set out. And in March the road in lined w/daffodills. Ever so pretty.
104 today
Jo

Yup, I've been to Ironstone. BEAUTIFUL place. They have a real nice line up for concerts this year. I doubt we'll be going to any though.
Was 106 here today!
