Dividing my irises this weekend (Aug. 5th)- want to trade?

Hammond, LA

My 'unknown' irises are not longer blooming well and need to be thinned out. Most are bright yellow but there are one or two purples in the group. Chances are, you will get yellow. As far as I can tell, they are not rebloomers but then again, they haven't bloomed alot in the last couple of years. They are singles and I believe they may be either a Louisiana or Siberian Iris. Sorry I can't be more specific but I didn't buy or plant them - they came with the house - and I'm not familiar with all the types of irises.

I will send 3 rhizomes (with leaves cut back to 1/3 their height) per trade. I know I'll have at least five lots of 3 rhizomes but possibly more - I'll know when I start digging.

I am specifically looking for cannas, irises (dwarf or regular - any color except yellow LOL), daylily, amaryllis (any except Voodoo), shade plants. We recently had a lot of brush cleared and I now have a big yard to fill, so I am open to most anything that would be easy to grow and non-invasive in zone 8/9 in either shade, partial shade, or full sun.

I also have an abundance of Four-O-Clock seeds - dark green foilage and deep reddish purple flower if anyone would like to trade seeds or have some thrown in with a lily trade. I'm planning a butterfly garden for spring so just about any fragrant flower will work.

Thanks!

DeAnne, I don't have much as a newbie but I do have some country wildflower seed mix that I can share with you.. Or if you want to check out my meager tradelist... I would like to get one of your lots of irises if possible. If nothing peaks your interest, I'd like to be considered for postage if you have any irises left over after your trades. Thanks.

I can send you some iris for trade if you would like, I would love some four o'clock seeds and I have some old fashion holly hock seed, this year they are variations of pinks, and whites and if I can figure out how to get the seeds I have some mallow or french holly hock seeds they are purple and white I can send you. My email address is susanhickman58@juno.com, let me know I try to check back here but I have a new barrel horse I'm starting and an arab all around horse I have to work so don't spend much time on the computer during the summer so sometimes I'm not on anything but my email for days. Thanks Susan
