CLOSED: various colors of Ice plants

College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

I have this hot pink (plant files calls it red, but not what I'd call it)

And a few of the yellow version of the same plant

And this is still an Ice plant but a different type. It's in plant files. A slower growing version. But still very pretty.

So what do I want in trade? Well I'm always up for temptation, lol. I don't want hostas, or cacti. I have a lot of brugs right now, so though I could still be tempted I really don't need anymore (darn that need vs. want thing) I have lots of tropical hibiscus and lots of seeds for hardy types. I do like Morning Glories and basically anything that flowers in this 8b zone. Let me know if anyone wants to trade. I have tons of the red/hot pinks and a lot of the lavenders. Only a few of the yellows though.

Aunt Anne,

I would love to take a lot of those off your hands since I also am in 8b we are in equal growing ground.

I have to get myself off to the job now but would like to reserve your decision for the end of the day when I can make you up a great temptation list. In the meantime, if you have the time, please go to my homepage here at Dave's, scroll down to "My favorite Website and see if you find anything there (not to purchase of course but for the trade). But there will be more later today.

Molly, I couldn't really find you're list but you're still welcome to some of these.

Anne,

Sorry, I was so tired yesterday after working in the heat I lost track of myself.

Let's see, would you have any interest in any of these?
White Butterfly Gingers
Blue Gingers
Wild Gingers
Red Turks Cap (Sleeping Hibiscus)
Sweet Potato Vines, 3 kinds
Beach Sunflowers
Any coneflowers?

The blue ginger looked really pretty. I have lots of the reddish/pink and the lavender ice plants. The yellow doesn't grow as fast so there is a smaller amount of that. So when you receive the plants please understand why there is more of the red and lavender than there is yellow. I will put a barely damp paper towel in with them. Don't be alarmed these could lay out for a couple of weeks then be planted and would still do well. Not recommended but just to let you know as to their hardiness. I will try to get them in the mail to you sometime this week.

I vouch for any delosperma you get from Aunt Anne. We stuck the dead sticks (after ignoring them for a long time) into extra pots, and now they are huge lush container plants! (Wondering how hardy they are...)

edited to say they flower, too, a lot!

Aunt Anne, I am looking forward to them. The ice plants seem to be hardy here so do well.

I will gather some of the blue gingers for you. They are not yet blooming so it looks like you will be just in time for that.

Are you in the address exchange? I am so you will find me there if you are too.

Sorry that this has dragged out so. I will gather some in the morning on my way out the door. I should have the time to send them out during lunch tomorrow.

AuntAnne,

The ice plant arrived in fine condition. They are now settled into their new home.

I will be putting your box together this evening for shipping in the morning with the Blue Ginger. You will love them. They have not yet bloomed so will be getting beady for this within the next month.

Thanks so much for sharing your ice plants.
