Where can I find more
Wish I could help, but I'm just getting a good start with hibiscus and am not familiar with most of them. It's sure pretty.
the listed name is "El Capitolio sport red. comes in two colors I know of Peach and red. They are old cultivars.
Thanks Eclipse. : ) I'm just realy getting starte d with Hibiscus this year.
Brugie... Thanks.. I think it is too. When she first sent me the cuttign I thought she had sent me a Rose Of Sharon Tree. LOL
Dave... Your peach one is stunning!!!! : ) Oh geez.... I gotta get me one of them. You happen to know the name of it or where I can buy one. They don't sell anythign like that aroudn here. : (
Also, if ya don't mind me asking. Have you tried to propagate yours. I tried and tried and mien didn't make any seed, so I figure I need to do cuttings, and would like to knwo the best to get them to root. Ther e nothing worse than takign a bunch of cuttings only to los e them.
Oh and too while I got ya, I in like zone a/b kind a on the boarder. Mine are small so they in pots. Do I need to put these type in a hoop house with out heat for the winter or will they do ok outside, if ya happen to know.
Thanks for sharign your picture. Sure enjoye d it! : )
They're just called El Capitolio, there's a peach one and a red one. I got a red one from Top Tropicals a few years ago, not sure if they still have it or not. And I think I've seen them at Exotic Hibiscus, probably some of the other hibiscus places would have them too. I've never seen them at local nurseries, only on mail order.
As far as hardiness--if yours in pots and are still small I'd put them in the hoophouse for the winter just to be safe, no sense taking chances!
Thanks Ecrane.!!!!! : ) I got ya now. ; ) Dahhhhhhh I just thought the re d one was called El Capitolio. Cool, back to gooling then for me to see if they may stil have one, or two or three. LOL Looks like they make a nice picture when several are blooming together.
Appreciate the heads up. Ya I just got these and love em and sure don't want to lose them after the person who shared especially went to al the work to grow and give em to me.
Thanks bunches! : )
You can also get them on eBay. I've seen them from a seller I'd recommend (puggybw) for about $6.99 plus shipping.

I have both red and peach as well. But you know I would swear that I saw a white one advertised somewhere. Wish that I could remember where though.
Anne
Amanda..... Thankyou.. Thankyou.. Thankyou. : ) I usually don't buy plants off ebay as I have had too many disappointing experiences, usually I just get seed. Since you've had good experience with this person, I gonna give it a try. Your bloosm in your pic are beautiful. : )
AuntAnne... Wow! A white one. I hope you can remember wher e you saw it. If you happen to think of it, I sure would appreciate knowing about it. You've got my curiosity up now. LOL : )
No problem!! I know what you mean about issues with buying plants on eBay ... I purchased what were suppose to be 4 seperate mature white Lily of the Nile from a seller and paid $11.50 for the shipping. I'd asked the seller how large the leaves were going to be and they said 20 inches. When they arrived, not only were 3 of the plants/rhizomes still tightly connected (I'm a newbie so this kind of scared me because I didn't want to ruin them by seperating them incorrectly), but the leaves were all chopped off just like they were daylilies! NONE of them were 20 inches long and one was as short as 4 inches. Needless to say, that one didn't even make it. When I asked the seller about all of this, he/she said that it was because they were trying to save on shipping. OMG, I SAW they paid $9.10 for shipping those things to me. I paid $11.50 - they could have splurged a little more and given me plants that would have arrived much healthier and survived the transplant. I know that's what I would have done!!
But this seller - puggybw - has sent me good plants. The Schizo arrived larger than stated in the auction and since the plant has a "natural leaning" form, I staked it which has really helped it transplant very smoothly. The plant never showed any signs of stress at all. She/he only ships at the beinning of the week in hopes that you get the plant asap (so it doesn't sit in the PO over the weekend) and I think it's recommended that you plant it right away to give the plant the best results.
Anyway, I hope this works for you! Let us know how your transaction goes by posting some pics!! :)
Hi Starlight,
The Elcapitolio comes in three colors. Red, Peach and Yellow. You can purchase all 3 in one pot at Hidden Valley.
