What is this?

Canyon, TX(Zone 6b)

Hello all,
I found this hald dead at Lowe's and have no clue what it is or what to do with it! LOL

It puts off new leaves but does not spread at all!

Can it be potted with other things? I know it is in a much larger pot then it needs but that is what I had on hand at the time! And I thought it would fill in! LOL

It is in the bathroom so it gets a lot of light and moisture!

It appears to be a houseplant ~ but I'm drawing a blank on the name. You might also post this question on the Houseplants forum... good luck. pod

Oh darn, I know what this is....I had one years ago and managed to kill it...it likes low light and don't give too much water. I think I begins with a "C", but I could be wrong...

LOL, well... At least we are moving in a direction now! LOL I hope you remember the name! LOL

Thanks!

Thank you very much!

It's a Calathea, although I cannot remember what variety that one is. I had the exact same one. I'd love to get another, but any indoor plants I have always end up with spider mites. :-(

It is so bright & shiney! It almost looks artificial!
Beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plant polish...they're really not that shiny, except for the brand new leaves.

HUMMM, Well I will look!

I would love to send you some, if I could figure out how! LOL I think I could get into this trading thing! LOL Especially if it works!

Oh and I don't polish it, it is just shine! LOL The new leaves are a lighter green and then turn darker. They also are cupped up, I tunr them down after then have turned dark some do themselves and soem don't!

I clean some of my other plants though! I will have to look up the mix, and post that for you!

Thanks for the help!

Ok it is a Clathea Ornata I think! WOW HOO! Thank you!

I wouldn't recommend trying to break it up, and it would probably die on me anyway. I had mine a long time ago and have the opportunity to buy another, I just didn't because I was showing the poor thing some mercy. ;-)

LOL QueenB! LOL I understand that!

Thank you for helping me anyway!
