philodendron trade

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

I found this well rooted cutting in water, I had forgotten about it. Anyone interested in a trade? I would be interested in another philodendron (not common)

Hi Linda,

What is the name?

Houston, TX(Zone 9b)

Looks like a Monstera deliciosa (not philodendron, but closely related).

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

Thanks Carter, I've only known it as 'split leaf philodendron' I have a large one and this is a cutting that I took this spring. I really don't need another one (or have room for it to grow).

Dont have another Philo to trade for but can offer Alpina Zerumbret if u r interested.

I'll have to look that up to see what it requires. Looks interesting and I love variegated leaves. Will it survive winter in the ground or does it have to be moved for protection?

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

Linda, Zerumbet is pretty easy, sun, lots of water and fert. Another DGer on the Carolina Gardening Forum is in Raleigh, NC, zonne 7b, and says she leaves hers in the ground as a dieback perennial, so it should be fairly hardy for you.

It's one of my favorite plants, personally.

San Antonio, TX

Linda, I've had this plant for roughly 3 years and it stays out doors all year long. During the winter I didnt even cover it and it did ok. I"ve had to graduate it to this larger pot early this year after begging a landscaper for the pots he had left over. It's multiplied sooooooo much. Im sure you'll like it. Maybe initially you might want to start it in a pot then xfer to ground later. Let me know, ok?
