Itty Bitty Kitty

Ashdown, AR(Zone 8a)

Who's this? Can't find it in my book. It's on a hibucus. I thought I read,Grey Hairstreaks used hibiscus as host but that's not what my book says.

Sorry my fat head cast a shadow. This was the only pic out of 5 that ws clear enough.

Hairstreak cats look more like little fat slugs....perhaps a moth of sorts? Ya know, it's your duty to raise it and let us know the outcome :o)

Time will tell!!!

Well,I didn't want to hear that...LOL! Guess I'll put it in the bug cage so we can see what it grows up to be.

It wasn't in my moth pix either. All my hibiscus have just about been striped clean(a couple hundred plants) so whatever thwey are...they're pigs.

Your echinacea seeds are going out in today's mail.

GD gave up her bug cage for the itty bitty kitty. I'm keeping it on my light bench in hopes I can bring him to mature stage.

wasn't expecting changes this quick but today when I went to put fresh leaf in the cage,I couldn't find the lil fellar...then I noticed the shed skin on the back of the cage....

I took the paper towel out, thinking maybe it had crawled under it and noticed what looks like a cacoon(sp?). Odd that it would shed it's skin then spin a cacoon but it's the only other object in the cage that wasn't there yesterday.
