Blooms for 7/31/07

College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

Ok no new flowers that haven't bloomed for me before. But I'm shameless so I'll just show off the ones that I have. lol

Still trying to decide on the name for this one.

Sorry if this is blurry, wind kept kicking it up. This one is nice because sometimes the color is this dark salmon and other times it's a much lighter more delicate shade of peach. It's a pretty one either way. (I know, the joke is getting old, lol)

Red capitalio, the replacement that sister gave me. Original has either fungus or virus, either way I'm about to trash it, the original that is.

Red Celia, prob. with too much sun in the picture. Definitely too much sun. It is actually a deep red. This pic gives appearance of orange, which in reality it doesn't have at all. Ok who's next, I'm going out to plant some Cosmos seed.
I've shown you mine, now you have to show me yours. ; - )

Anne, great pictures! That first bush is just amazing with all its beautiful blooms. Is that one Mystic Pink? I'm going to have to get that one "on the list".

I don't care how many times blooms are posted, I always love looking at them. Each flower is a different little gift, opening into its own beauty :-)

Okay, I've got some blooming, but I've got to add a disclaimer today - my pictures aren't that great, as today is infusion day, and I'm holding my camera and shooting with one hand while the other hand holds up all the tubing from my stomach and my infusion pump. Where there's a will, there's a way, lol ;-)

I'll start off with a new one I picked up at the HVH open house this past Saturday (I'm gonna make an open house thread, as I took a lot of pics while I was there).

Here is Strawberry Fields Forever with a bright strong bloom. Even in the heat, the two blooms I've had so far have stayed open and true to color for almost two days. This new bloom is from this morning. In the background you can kind of see Gator Pride, which is posted next.

Cajun Blue is slow to wake up today, but has three blooms looking just like this one.

Rum Runner was taken with a zoom today. This is planted in the ground on the top level (under Brug Charles Grimaldi) of a terraced slope. No climbing for me today though ;-)

This is a perfectly named Soft Spot - I'm really into the soft pink on the edges of this lavender cultivar...

Like there's NOT a hibiscus bloom that "I'm really into", lol!

Great pictures today....as always. I don't have much in bloom today, but I'll get out there soon and see if I can wiggle them around for a picture.

College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

I love the Love Story. The Strawberry Fields does something like my Ocean Spray in its coloration. The Ocean Spray, by the way lasted 2 days.

Alvin, TX(Zone 9a)

Simply gorgeous!!!!!!!!!

_____________________!!!! (that's me trying to respond, verbally) Oh, to be able to grow them year round (well, outside).... Anne, your 3 pic, the orange one, I think I have the same one (I'll try to remember to post the pic), given to me by a fellow DG'er, do you know the name?

It's not really orange. It's the way the sun was on it. It is really a deep red.

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)
