Hi, I just spent a good 15 minutes lurking around, viewing the pictures. Birds are so awesome. =)
My mother and grandmother were die-hard backyard birdwatchers and I got the birdie love from them, lol. I've been thinking about putting up feeders in our yard as well, but there are a ton of cats plus our own doggie.
My own native NE Ohio birds include dees, tons of robins in the summer, bluejays, cardinals, orioles, sparrows of all sorts, titmouses, snowbirds in the winter, goldfinches, purple finches, house finches, flickers, sometimes a hummer, red-winged blackbirds, noisy starlings, cowbirds, catbirds, crows, blue herons, Canada geese, Cooper's hawks, red-tailed hawks, pretty little kestrels ( sparrowhawks), red-shouldered hawks, screech owls, barn owls... umm... oh, and turkey vultures. And herring gulls, who flew down from Lake Erie one day and decided to stay. =)
That list was so unneccesary, lol. Sorry about that. If we ever get a digital camera, maybe I can post some pictures sometime, too. =) it's so cool to see the native birds in other areas of the country.... I'm jealous of a few of you, lol.
Oh, I love this forum!
