I finally have the spot for a JM. It will be outside, in the ground, in a protected inside corner of the house - east side, with protection from the west sun. Because it will be under overhanging eaves from the house, it needs to be one of the shorter varieties. I prefer that it not be one of the dark reds - like Goodblood. I also prefer it not be one with the finely dissected leaves which scorch so badly in the heat of our summer. But, I would like color! Pinks, oranges, light greens, turning and changing with the seasons...
Can you advise me as to which JMs will take our heat/humidity and remain small and colorful? Thanks for your help!
CJ
PS I posted this on the Japanese Maple forum and was told there was nobody from our area there, so thought I'd try Texas Gardening forum instead.

This is a wholesale nursery, but they may be able to tell you who carries their trees.

We have 15 different Acers in our catalog. Did I give you one?
Here's the link to 14 & the other on is in 'Shade Trees' but I don't think that one would work!
