Peach Parfait

Alexandria, VA(Zone 7a)

Hello! I just wanted to show everyone my New Brug I purchased In bloom on the way home from a trip.
I am so happy. I am new to brugs and have some plants growing from cuttings I received in a trade over the winter. They have not bloomed yet.
So, you all can imagine I was so happy to see and smell my first bloom on this New Brug Peach Parfait.
Its so pretty and I have been enjoying the scent every !evening outside!!

It has yellow flowers that change to peach. Does anyone have any information on this particular brug?
Also Should I remove the spent blooms?
Will it keep growing after it blooms? It still has unopened blooms on it.

Not to mention its a variegated Brug too! I hit the Jack pot!!!

I have never hear of that one. Looks like peaches an cream which I have had. I gave it to my daughter since varigated ones only produce sterile seeds an I have an active breeding program and on't have room to keep ones I can't use for crosses.

Of course the triple purple, LOL

I guess I just want to try to come up with one that is my own. I am crossing a lot of single, double, triple golds and yellows this summer. Aslo tossing trying some new ones, adding them to my gene pool.

I do love the doubles, but would be so thrilled to produce a smaller, fragrant orange with the nodding bloom I like.

I am having a lot of fun. Love having lots of seeds and plants to share.

Congratulations on your first brug bloom experience Katrun! I bet your in heaven. Looks like you did hit the jackpot as far as blooms are concerned!
Here is info in plant files on Peaches n Cream http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/64410/ You can compare pics with yours.
Removing spent blooms is entirely personal preference. I just tug at the skirts a tiny bit to remove the wilted part if it's unsightly.. but that's just me. You can do whatever you like.
Yes, it will keep growing and keep blooming! They love fertilizer and plenty of water, but not "wet feet".

Mine, I believe is a bit different from the Peaches & Cream.
I have been fertilizing my Brugs now. I did not know that wanted that much. So hopefuuly I will be able to get my other Brugs to bloom. I have 6 different ones (unknown). I hope I can feed them enough to get them to bloom next month.
Thats my goal. Before it starts to get cool here.

Now I need to read up on how long I should keep these out side before bringing them in.
Question: Do you have to have the Woody part on the stem to root the cuttings, or can they all be just green?
I plan on taking cuttings of all the brugs and keeping them in water for the winter.

PS. It looks like the plant should be repotted. Should I repot or leave it alone?

Beautiful ..

I don't think this is P&C, which is a versicolor (the pics of P&C in the plant files show two different plants, only one of which looks like a versicolor).

It does look to me very much like 'Maya' though.

There is some discussion about 'Peach Parfait' in one of the specialist Brug forums (going back to '04) suggesting it may be a re-naming of an existing variety rather than a distinct variety in its own right.

It would be good to try crossing it with 'Maya' to see if they are compatible (which would strongly suggest it is a distinct variety).
