Pole Beans - soil innoculant necessary?

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

I ordered pole bean seeds for a fall crop. The packet says to use soil innoculant. I planted bush beans for the spring, and they are doing fine. Do I need innoculant, or is this a ploy to get me to order something else?

I never use innoculent on bush or pole beans, and mine produce good. The innoculant it supposed to increase yields by helping the plants fix nitrogen (or something like that).

Thanks veggiehappy - I asked this question today on another thread and got the same response from others. Their beans did quite nicely without it. Since I don't have it and want to see if I can get a fall crop - I won't worry about it.

Thanks because I was wondering the same thing.
