Yesterday it was just a light rain, so I set up the bird cam on the porch. We have a lot of juvie Cardinals and one juvie Jay.
1 of 6 Father cardinal.
Bird cam again.
Very nice pics trois!!
Great pics, trois! :)
Thanks pelletory and Grandmaggie.
We still have few jays after last years West Nile attack.
I live in a west nile hot spot. The birds have recently almost all left. Do you think that might be the cause? We had 14 days of some rain everyday. That really made the mosquitos increase. When the rain stopped; most of the birds left. Today only doves and cardinals came to feed and they waited till after sundown.
That is pretty much the way it happened here.
Trois, marvelous pics - and the one of the dove "landing" is stunning!
Thanks, Murmur! Sometimes I get lucky.

Trois, lovely pix, as always. Do you have a thread that tells about your bird cam? Is it motion activated? I'd love to try and set something up like that, cause my reflexes aren't fast enough to get pix of most of the birds!

Yes I have a thread somewhere about the bird cam. I activate the camera with a remote control while watching with a cheapo closed circuit camera. This way they never see me at all.
I use a tripod, pre-focus on feeder or limb.
It was last fall, Sept. or Oct. I will look it up.
In the threads trois has started, Oct 22 is the first of several threads about the bird cam. They randomly continue to this day.

Thanks trois, I'll check it out! ;D

HI-Great photos!
It is so nice to see Blue Jays! Ours have disappeared several years ago.
The Dove coming in for the landing is really neat.
Awe, those juvie Cards are so adorable.
Judy
Judy, last year we had a lot of Jays, but then West Nile killed most of them. We just have 2 or 3 now.
The juvie Cards are fun to watch. They act a lot like young children.
trois
Yes, they seem to have a lot more moxie than their parents. Nice to see that for a change, even if only for a short while.
