If the germination instructions advise soaking your seeds before sowing, for a hydroponic garden, do you?
The roof has finally been put on my greenhouse..I know just two years after the storm....we have years to go before we finally finish cleaning up.....it's too hot! Anyway, tons of seeds to plant; time to learn how my seeds will respond to hydroponics!
Thanks,
Megin
Soaking seeds
I have 1 1/2" rockwools that I soak in Olivia's Solution. I just put the seeds in the holes and put the rockwools in a dome. A week later the seedlings are around 2-3 inches high and I put them on the hydro tables. I have a Grow Well Insert that fits inside the American Hydroponics Econo Table. The inserts on the Grow Well fit the cubes. I have Bok Choy right now and Buttercrunch lettuce. I never had Bok Choy until last week. I put some in my stir fry and they were awesome!!!! I just started more Bok Choy seeds today. I think I might try some Jingle Bell Peppers next. I have also tried the paper towel trick. That works better on pepper seeds for some reason. But you have to catch them before the little roots work their way into the paper towel. Remember to keep fans blowing around to keep your plants strong and discourage pests. Good Luck!!
