College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

I hope it's ok for me to jump in here. Here's the first of mine with the first from this plant called Butterfly.

here is Mrs. Jimmy Spangler, or what was left of her after the grasshoppers got through, arghhhhh.

My favorite Mystic Morning. She's going into a larger pot this weekend so she may be out of circulation for awhile till she adjusts.

This is a red double that I didn't know the name of, however on another thread someone id'd a double that looks strikingly like this one as Perfect Strangers. So I dunno.

the dbl red is "Red Celia", the variegated red is "Red Hot"

oh cool, thanks I will go label now. I have a couple of others the red capitalio and the peach capitalio but the camera died on me, battery needs charging. Someone else's turn now.

San Bernardino, CA(Zone 8b)

Great pics, Anne! I'm in love with your variegated Red Hot!! Yep, another one added to "the list"...

San Bernardino, CA(Zone 8b)

I've got a few that have newly opened this morning.

First is Rumrunner with an extra little "poof" in the middle :-)

Next up is Renaissance Blue looking pale and lovely.

Black Dragon (in the ground, yesterday's pic was in the pot) is just waking up this morning...

I've got two sets of "cajun twins" today; the first is the Big Easy. Apparently the cajuns get up much earlier than some of their more laid-back cousins ;-)

As you can see, I've had grasshoppers munching on my precious hibbies - evil, evil things, I show them NO mercy :-(

Young at Heart is showing a fresh, new bloom today. IAlthough I got this one by accident, I'm liking this cultivar more and more. The neon pink color holds even in the super-heat.

Mango Tango has a new bloom today that is even prettier than yesterdays. I LOVE a great pink/orange combo :-)

Soft Spot's delicate pink and lavender are a restful counterpart to the rest of my neon (i.e., gaudy) blooms ;-)

Nary a day goes by without Erin Rachael joining the parade of color with a new bloom.

Here's the other set of cajun twins - Voodoo Queen. This is such a great plant - grows very quickly and is always blooming.

And lastly, I've got Rosalind, who is a sleepy-head today, and not quite awake just yet.

For a change though, my favorite bloom of the day today goes to a first-bloom daylily - Tyger River. This flower glows in the same way as Hot Bikini, it almost sears the eye with its neon orange.

Have a beautiful day!!

You can sneak those perennials in any old time, they're beautiful!

Great pic of Erin Rachael with the variegated leaves all around :-)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks Karen. I really like your Mango Tango and AuntAnne's Butterfly. I love yellow against the dark green foliage.

Alvin, TX(Zone 9a)

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!! I LOVE these!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

amarantha00 - your Rum Runner did the same as mine did today - all of my blooms have that extra petal in the middle - weird?! And I LOVE your Eric Rachel and Mango Tango!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alvin, TX(Zone 9a)

Brugie - I LOVE the Erin Rachel!!

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

OMG, my list gets longer and longer. They are all so beautiful.

This is Pink Frost this morning.

Great pics, Ardesia :-) That little Itsy Bitsy is as cute as a bug's ear!

Alvin, TX(Zone 9a)

WOW!! I'm loving the Tarantella with the light showing through - great effect!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Gosh, they are all really nice. I really like that Tarantella, tho. It's really a looker.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

My husband hates that one. He says the flowers are too big and look unnatural. He obviously has no taste!!!!!

This is from last year, the flower was 10" across.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Wow, that is gorgeous.

San Bernardino, CA(Zone 8b)

Well, obviously!! Tarantella is stunning :-)

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

How could you have a flower that's too big? I don't think that's possible! When it comes to hibiscus, the bigger and gaudier the better!

Nada here. Fighting midge flies. Had to prune everyone to the bone.
Nary a flower in sight. :-(

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Oh no, that sounds terrible. But, usually when the hottest part of the summer hits the flowers take a break anyhow so if you had to prune this is a good time to do it. In your climate they should bounce back soon.
