Well they were up the road in the hayfield this week, but I was shocked to see them in my yard when I went out to deadhead the daylilies this AM!
Woke up to turkeys!
How neat is that! Look at all the babies they have too. What a treat to see in your own yard!

The neighbor's dog decided to take a dump on my lawn and was surprised to see me and a flock of turkeys. She barked and they flew up into the trees, leaving me one pretty turkey feather down below.
Unlike the domesticated turkey, the wild turkey is a very smart bird and normaly hard to get pictures of. We have wild turkeys here but I haven't been able to get any pics yet. Thanks for the post.
That is neat boojum; thanks for sharing it with us.
You're very welcome. Glad you enjoyed my wildlife encounter. Just wish I could have gotten clearer pics!!
I remember walking in the woods with my mom last year. She has a lab too. All of a sudden there was a bunch of noise as the two dogs found some turkeys and were surprized by them. We got the dogs settled and were standing talking, when a lone turkey flew right above us and into a tree. My mom had never seen one so close and didn't know they sat in trees. LOL. I think she had as much fun seeing them as her dog.
Nice encounter!
