My name is Martha. I live at the Reservoir in Brandon, near Jackson, MS. We are in Zone 7/8. WelI, let's see, I'm 68 yrs. old and recently retired. Gardening is my best love. For years I have heard of Dave's Garden, and it's just great to become a part of the group. You seem to be down-to-earth [pun] folks. I like that. This summer I have been studying roses, a new addition to my garden. I'd like to know anything you can tell me about growing roses in the south. Below are two images. The first is the entrance to my garden, followed by a snapshot inside the garden (provided I can get two images in this message). ttfn, Martha

Thank you for your warm welcome. You are all so friendly. Most certainly I will visit the Mid South Forum. Dave's Garden is enormous. I need to explore more of it and get my sea legs going. I hope to be talking with you again soon. Martha
As soon as the "sun" comes out. LOL. It's raining cats and dogs right now. I have another sun that holds my garden hose. I'll take a pic of that one too.
Love the sun in your photo, Paul. I've never seen one like it. Is it made of wood? Unusual.
Thanks for visiting.
Martha
Martha,
I hear you loud and clear on the rain. I'm not up for playing in the rain either today. :^)
About the pics, I'm thinking I'd like to get a photo thread going of our Suns.....
Why don't you wait and I'll try to get a new thread up and going.
Then I'll send you a link.
Thanks again, have a nice day.
Oh yea, the sun is made of wood. The rays were cut from regular treated Dog-eared fence boards.
The middle is from a larger piece of Pine board. I carved and shaped the face on it, and put it all together.
I'm working on a slightly smaller version that I'm going to take to a round-up some time as a door prize (one of these days)
Paul
Wow. You are indeed talented, Paul. What a door prize that will be. Do you carve other sculptures? I'd like to see your work.
A Sun thread sounds fun. I'd like that.
Martha
