I have at least 2 hummers fighting over the same hummingbird feeder. Should I get another feeder? Or will they still continue to fight over the feeders?
These guys really drink a lot. I have to fill up the "humzinger" twice a day!
Fighting Hummers?
I have fighting hummers. I have 4 different feeders scattered about my small yard and while I still have the whole yard getting guarded, others do have oppurtunity to sneak in and get their fill because it's impossible to guard them all at once :)
I just sit back and watch the show, hummer wars I call them, hummers chasing hummers all day long. I feel bad for the ones that get a bit distracted and stop to say "hi" because they usually don't have time to drink before getting shooed off lol
Hummies will be hummies and they are very territorial staking out what each believes is his/her best nectar source.
During peak season I hang out a dozen large 32 oz feeders from the eaves of my back porch as well as hang or stake out dozen more of small 12ml feeders and 2 oz feeders in the flower beds, trellises and the trees.
You're never going to stop the bickering and aerial acrobatic displays. Just sit back and enjoy the show :o) If you're fast with a camera you can get some great photos!!!
...and some days you may just see them settling in for a truce and enjoying the feeder :o)

Thank you for responding. I was a little concerned when I heard their little "body slam"! I am enjoying them. They get braver everyday.
