Things are popping this morning

Indialantic, FL(Zone 10a)

It's only 10 o'clock and I have 1 Monarch, 1 Sulphur, and 4 Gulf Fritillaries that have eclosed so far this morning. All I'm missing from my brood is one of the BSTs.

I'm having so much fun. Got the video camera set up, and my digital camera in hand.

Congrats, Terrie! When I saw the photo of your Monarch chrysalis that you posted earlier, I knew it was just a matter of time ..... very short time. When you can see the wings perfectly through the chrysalis, then you know it's very close to emerging! Good luck using your video camera! Very cool indeed! :-)

I just wish I would have realized it would be so soon. I didn't get the eclosing on video. But, maybe I'll get the next one. I'm supposed to be working, not popping out to the porch to check on babies.

Congrats!!!!

I often sit outside with camera in hand taking still photos and ready to switch to movie mode at the first sign of movement...I get frantic switching over and trying to focus as some of those butterflies can slip out of their chrysalids in under 10 seconds!!! :o)

Cat,

Yep. I have yet to catch one as it's emerging. Always get them seconds later.
