Terrie, that's awesome!!!! I"m so excited for you.

Is that one of the caterpillar castles from livemonarch? I bought the large one; the cats really liked to pupate near the edges of the "ceiling!" :-)

Yes, its one of the castles. I have bought about 12 of them so far. I think they are wonderful. My cats like to pupate from the top, too.

15 mins later I go back out to take another peek at the Monarch and this is what I found.... yippee!!

Congrats! Congrats! Amazing how something that takes several weeks to go from egg to chrysalis can emerge in mere seconds as an adult butterfly!!! :o)

Am sure once you release these they'll find mates and continue the cycle. Hope you have plenty of milkweeds :o)

I'm ready for 'em. I have quite a few plants in the ground, and 15 seedlings in my porch window.

Bring on the Monarchs!!

Congrats Terrie or grandma. What an awesome site that is. And what a wonderful thing you are doing for these beautiful creatures. I see in one pic you have another one hanging around. I have ordered one of those castles and have yet to have to use it. Do yall think I need to order more than one? It seems everyone has more than one and I am afraid that if I ever do get cats I will have more than the one will hold. Any suggestions?

Leslie - I have several cages. Some bought, some I made similar to Debs. I would get at least 3 cages if you are serious about hand-raising them. But they don't all have to be bought. Try making a few in-expensive ones! :-)
