A few pics from work

Washington, MO(Zone 6a)

I had a few extra minutes this morning to snap a few pics. A few I don't have ID's for, and will post to the Plant Identification forum shortly. I'd ask my boss, but she's on her way to the Ball Seed show (lucky her, sigh).

The first one is a simple collection of three small hayracks that are in place so the drunk members and/or guests don't step in the 6" space between the handrail and patio, HEH.

Staying on the same patio, are two cauldron-baskets. They are almost identical (mirrored).

A closeup of the yellow tropical that I don't as yet have an ID of. I remember the tag stating it's size to be 12"-72" tall. I lauged hysterically when I read that tag. That's quite a difference! If anyone knows, I'm all ears. =)

This one has been identified as Tecoma stans. Thanks tigerlily!

Moving to the next patio (outside the Ballroom). And, yet another tropical, who's name escapes me. A closeup of the blooms will follow.

Closeup of the unknown. Again, if anyone knows, please help an old egg out. =)

Has been identified as Maurandya 'Magic Dragon'. Thanks, nifty!

Whoops! I missed one grouping from the previous patio, sorry. Two large trough planters, end to end. I bought two flats of curly parsley for the herb gardens, but their foilage was such a nice addition, they all ended up in containers such as these. No parsley for chef this year! HEH

Back to the Ballroom Patio. Allamanda cathartica (which I have been trying, unsuccessfully thusfar, to propagate from cuttings all season). I found a dry seedpod, and planted the seed a couple days ago. Hopefully, it will germinate. I'd really like to grow it as a vine (as it should be), instead of pruned as a shrub (as this one is).

One of my favorite plants is this Staghorn Fern. It's hanging on a balcony, overlooking the practice greens. The lighting is all wrong, though, sorry. It was about 6am, and the sun rises behind and just to the left. I'll see if I can get back up there at a better time, to get a better pic.

Also on the balcony is this Yucca. It was a $30 Lowe's find, this spring. I wish *I* would have been the one to find it, and not my boss. It would look nice on my deck, LOL. Again, the lighting is way off, but it's a hard place to take pics, in the morning. It has to be my first stop, though. Things need to stop dripping before the place gets busy. =(

Finally, this was my morning project. The club logo, in boxwoods, pruned to about 12". It's located on what is probably our "signature hole" (and one of the most difficult holes I've ever played). I have to prune it twice a season. Thank goodness I only have to prune the barberry that flank it, only once a season. They're no picnic, believe me. They stand about 5' tall and a bit over 7' wide. The filler plant, surrounding the logo is Vinca.

I took some more pics of the patios, but they were a bit fuzzy. I'll try and get better ones tomorrow.
