I asked this question on one forum already and was told "just be patient." :) Our garden is practically in downtown Seattle, though, and I am NOT going to count on bees alone to do all the pollinating for us. I've found that I do get more squash if I help the male pollen and the female pistils find each other.
With cucumber blossoms, however, I'm puzzled. The stamens and pollen are nowhere as easy to spot as in squash blossoms! Fortunately, the only variety I'm growing that I have to worry about getting pollinated is the lemon cucumbers.
Has anyone hand-pollinated your cucumbers? How?
How do you pollinate lemon cucumbers?
