Moretz, they are beautiful! When it comes to the "baby moos", I'm as bad as the kids if not worse. Even I yell for the kids to look at them.

A man down the road has cows and goats that share the same pasture and it's so fun to drive by each day and see them out there and see how quick they grow! Down further, there is another lot of cows. They have a red and white baby I've been watching the past year. I'm really fond of that one. :)

OH Moretz how cute. My first trip to SC I made DH pull over and we ate our lunch in front of a pasture that had a couple mamma's with their new calves.

How many cows do you have? and do you raise them for dairy or meat?

hickory, NC(Zone 7a)

well all together about 40 plus babies on the way ,we just had another one yesterday and one is on the way tonight or tomorrow
so it will be over 40 when the babies come
well we just sale them and i guess they gor for meat,we take to an auction to sale but not sure where they go from there, my daughter has one that is haltered trained (we had to bottle feed her) and takes her out of the pasture to eat grass
she loves it
well will take pics of the other one we has yesterday and the one on the way tomorrow thxs everyone

How cool about the one your daughter has halter trained.
Do you plan on keeping her or when the time comes will you be selling her also. That would be hard since she has become a pet more or less.

hickory, NC(Zone 7a)

carat
no we will keep her until she dies because hubby gave brittany(daughter) her that one so it will never leave her until she dies and she is getting ready to have her 2nd calf too so very exciting
ill post a pic of her

Awww, such cute baby cows! And your daughter's pet cow is beautiful. Look at that sweet face. She is Precious, isn't she?

You'll have to post more picture when you have 40 babies.

That cow has such a gentle looking face. Great pictures....

How wonderful to have a cow as a pet. Don't think I am going to tell DS about that though....

Fayette, MO(Zone 6a)

What kind of bull did you have that most of your calves and cows look mostly hereford and you got one black baldy?

hickory, NC(Zone 7a)

well the herefords that have no white on their feet is from an angus bull and the ones with white on their feet was from a hereford bull and the black baldies come from a hereford mom and an angus bull
make since?

Fayette, MO(Zone 6a)

So you have two bulls? Or did you buy cattle already bred?

hickory, NC(Zone 7a)

my FIL has been doing cattle for over 25 years so he has been doing this for a while,it is some that he has raised and they keep producing ,we had one bull and one hefer, and 2 more on the way,and some more will be having calves in september, and they shouldnt have any more until next year,i wish i had my camera today,my daughter caught the black baldy bull and was petting it and i didnt have my camera,oh well maybe i can get it tomorrow, we really enjoy raising cattle, they are soooooo cute when they are little thxs
