Purplish Cats

NE Medina Co., TX(Zone 8a)

Well, I found these things on a plant on my place. The plant is a mallow, I don't remember what it is called exactly...kind of weedy-looking. Whatever they are, they seem gregarious, swarming all over what's left of that leaf..

Thanks, guys! Well, I was gone all day yesterday, but I checked it out today and I guess it might be sawfly larvae. I'd rather have skipper cats, but these are interesting, at least. It's funny how they move around with just those front legs and sometimes curl the rear part up while holding on with the legs.
