If you got a Codonanthe carnosa in a trade from here, please take a look and see if it is actually a digna.....
I am going to correct the plantfiles entries as well.
On the left are carnosas, and on the right is digna, which was given to me as carnosa (and so I've circulated it as carnosa...).
Codonanthe carnosa/digna ID correction
Don't judge by leaf color, as it seems that carnosa can come with red backs and all green, and digna can also come in all green or with red backs.
The primary difference seems to be size, which makes it very difficult to ID them correctly by photos alone.
All I know is that the plant I had that was labeled carnosa has leaves that are smaller than Codonanthe devosiana 'Paula', and yet the real carnosa is definitely bigger than Paula in both leaf and flower size.
I believe both my Paula and carnosa came from Rob's Violets, so it looks like they may have their carnosa labeled incorrectly. (This is not confirmed, however....)
As I understand it now, Codonanthe digna is now merged into Codonanthe devosiana.
'Paula' used to be considered a species in its own right, but it's now considered a clone of devosiana.
In other words, the Codonanthe carnosa you have (if you got it from someone here) may be C. devosiana.

In any case, it is a beautiful plant, keyring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
could it just be cultural?
no, it's not just cultural. The plants are quite different in person - just difficult to tell apart from photos.
They are both very pretty plant Ki. Thanks for sharing the pictures and the information.
