what am I?

I found this moth? or what ever it is at Walmart on a dying plant.. I took him home and put in one our trees in the shade.. He is so beautiful...

Perhaps you have some of the larval hosts in your area. Would be great if it found a mate. Please check out Bill Oehlkew's website for more information on larval hosts and adult nectar sources.

Many adult moths do not feed and only live to procreate. Hopefully it did not ingest or get contaminated by any pesticides on plants inside the nursery section. Many of those stores use chemicals to get rid of what they deem as pests.
