Guess what??? You CAN do it!!!

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7a)

Realizing of course, that it is much easier to propogate an episcia from stolons... I wanted to see if it could be done from leaves, like AVs. I stuck two leaves from my big 'Kee-wee' on April 1st, and nearly four months later, I have found that you can!

Now if I could just get my AV leaves (the two I have) to do the same....

WOW....4 months, talk about a patient lady.......

Woo Hoo! Great Growin Karen! Gives me hope! I have always grown AV's from leaf but I'm new at Episcia's and didn't even realize these plants could be propagated that way! I have waited 3-4 months to see little ears peeking up from AV leaves too! Guess sometimes plants are just a bit lazy and like to take their time showing their pretty little faces!

Great Job! Keep us posted with pic's as the little fella grows up!

Tell me about it! I almost threw them out about 3 weeks ago, but when i tugged on one of them it held fast... so I thought, "What the hay?"

Just fun to be able to say I could do it...

Rose, it may be faster with stolons but that is just so cool that they will grow from leaves too!! Fun experiment!
