Arborea Pod Question??

Lewiston, CA(Zone 7b)

I have several pods on my 2 Arborea & have never had "Pods" before, so I was wondering how I will know when they are "ready" they are about the size of a lg. egg right now. Still firm & green. Here's a pic, tho not of the oldest one.
Any help would be appreciated! Bj

No help? I have no clue when these pods will be "ready". Anybody know?
Do I wait for them to split open? to get squishy? Or what? H-E-L-P!

Hi :) if you go to classic threads you will find great info on seed pods.....lots of fab chat about Angel propagation and cuttings etc...good luck and have fun!

Thank-x Paul. I just wasn't sure what I was looking for. I have been feeling it to see if it is getting softer. I have them covered with a piece of nylon hose tied around them so incase they decided to pop while I wasn't looking.
Appreciate to info. Bj

Brug pods dont pop not like Dautra pods hey save me a few seeds if you can Paul

Bj the arboreas ripen the fastest of any brug, only about 4 months or so after pollination. How long has your oldest been on the vine?
After it's ripe the pod quits growing and starts to dry out a little on the very bottom tip. When you cut it open, if the seeds are dark brown then it's fully ripe.
They can be germinated before they're actually ripe, but they don't store or ship well if they're harvested before they're brown.

I love Arborea pods. And you will get lots. Every flower pods on mine. It will tell you when they are ready and if you do not pick them, they drop, unlike my other brugs.

The Whole Pod Kell ?

Marysville, WA(Zone 8a)

Yep, she means the whole pod. Kell do you find that if you wait until it drops that some have already started to germinate in the pod?

Interesting...The oldest is about 3 months old. Still green & firm. I kept 2 pods on each plant (2) & cut the spent flowers off the plants as they get old to prevent more pods. I have put nylon pieces tied at both ends to hold anything that might "fall".
