when I saw this one open. It is Tangerine Dream. I posted it along with all the others that have bloomed on my other thread, but thought it should be up here with all of the other beauties who are posted. So far, she has been open for over two days. She has a small bloom, but it packs a lot of power.
Edited to corret the spelling of the name.

Thanks a bunch, everyone. I still like looking at the pictures. LOL!
Kyle...do ya really think so? Bet it will have an extra branch that will root in DM later on this fall.

lol...like any of them AREN'T Keepers...;)
I'm with Tess....I've not seen one that I wouldn't be happy to grow. That's my problem. I want them all.
Thanks Liz. Your pictures are always awesome to look at.

Beautiful! Another one I have to have now!
I didn't like the way it looked on HVH, but yours is a Knockout!!!
Could you please post the botanical name? That is absolutely stunning and I want one too!
I looked in Plant Files with Hibiscus as the genus and Tangerine Dreams as the cultivar, but I can't find it. Does that mean you still need to add it, (hint-hint) or am I just a ditz?
The Latin name would be Hibiscus rosa-sinensis 'Tangerine Dreams' It's not in PF.
Wow that's beautiful.
David
Thanks, ecrane. Rosa-sinensis was the obvious species guess, but just as soon as I assume something....
Will you add it to Plant Files, Brugie? I'd vote for it as bloom photo of the day. That's both a beautiful bloom and a fabulous photo!
Thanks everyone. I'm glad you like it as I do. My photography isn't professional by any means or my picture wouldn't have the garden hose in it. I bought my start from Hidden Valley Hibiscus. A little pricey for the size, but I'm happy with it now. It's been added to Plant Files along with two pictures. Thanks again for all the nice comments.
You know, I've noticed that quite a few cultivars aren't in the plant files. I've never added any for fear of doing it wrong, but I've got lots of pictures I could add. Do you think I should add my darker orange pic too so people can see the different colors that this cultivar can be?
Brugie, you take GREAT pictures :-) I've got a couple small buds on my little Tangerine, so I'm hoping that they look like this, instead of the darker orange that mine was last time (the darker orange is pretty too though, I just think the yellow on yours is prettier).
karen
Sure Karen, that's what plant files are for. Add your pictures for sure. I thought yours was pretty. Maybe this plant is going to bloom with variety like Rum Runner does.
Yes, and I think it will be fun to see if the differences are because of locales (with yours always blooming more yellow, and mine more orange), or if the plant is a color-shifter...
When I find a missing PF I want to add, I open up a second browser page and then just copy and paste the family, genus and species info from another entry and add the new cultivar name. Thats' my K.I.S.S. method.
I see that this one was recently added, thanks Brugie. I sure hope others will follow up as well as there are so many wonderful images always posted here that could be added to expand PF, many of you haven't done that, and who know who you are! :-)
Very nice. Beautiful bloom and yet another one for my neverending list!!!
