I have been here for a few days reading and posting a bit. This looks like a great place! I am growing mostly flowers this year with the exception of one melon-Queen Anne's Pocket Melon. Can't wait til they are ripe. :) I've posted a few times so you can read those to catch up on what flowers I am growing. My name is Leah and I am married with 3 kids who help me garden occasionally (the kids not the dh) lol. You all seem like a friendly bunch. Looking forward to getting to know you.

Hi from NW Arkansas!
Welcome to Dave's Garden, Leah! Your garden is lovely. I live in the city of Houston, so I'm very envious of all of the open space I see in your picture. Some day I want to live in the country again!!
We have a couple of regional forums that you might like. I'm not sure if you'd consider yourself in the Mid-south (http://davesgarden.com/forums/f/region_mids/all/) or the Central Midwest (http://davesgarden.com/forums/f/region_lmw/all/), but both forums are full of fun and friendly people. :-)
Hi Marylyn,
Thanks for the welcome. I love living in the country. We used to live on 8 acres (too much mowing) but now we have almost an acre. I see you live in zone 9a. You're lucky you get to grow gardenias and camelias. Plants I've always wanted to grow. Thanks for pointing out the regional forums. I'll check em out.
Leah
Yeah, but you can probably grow lilacs and peonies. There's always a trade off. ;-)

yes that's true. I was mostly trying to make you feel better for your lack of space. lol :-) It is true I'd like to grow those plants though. I had lilacs and peonies at my old house and I plan on having them here too. I spent most of my mother's day money on good dirt this year though. Gotta start somewhere.
