Last night (I've been aware of this before, however) while I was taking the dogs out before bed, I looked over to the brug in my last post, and it seemed to be "enchanted". Had to take a picture of those leaves. Anyone know the why of this phenomenon?
My big excited brug!
They are protecting the new growth from the night elements.
Cool!!!
its sure a healthy one..
Mine do that so many times at night, think they are keeping moisture in plant. Also looks like they are praying.
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh they are sleeping!
I think that is the cutest thing ever.... especially when a tiny lil seedling does it. Some do it more than others... I love it.
I told my husband they were praying for survival. LOL
That's a good one Mary and so fitting especially considering the high temps we are having right now.
dunkirk: That is a beauty. It looks like my "Charlie" (Charles Grimaldi) which I started from a cutting (shipped from La) in January 07 and now stands about 4.5 feet tall. I was told by the nursery that Charles is one of the fastest growers of the Brug family. And yes, I think they love conversation. Everyday is an adventure with these beauties.
I love how animated they are when they do that. Enchanted is a perfect description. You know what is weird though, is that I have some NOID whites rooting under florescent lights in the house. When it is dark outside but the plant lights are still on inside on the plants, ~ these little boogers know it is night time and fold up their leaves!! Just so strange.... The other cuttings aren't doing that.
