nice!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am itching to get started, but i can't find any horticultural charcoal..........is it necessary or can I put perlite on the bottom???????????????

Northern California, CA(Zone 9a)

Gail, try going to a pet store. You can use the same charcoal they sell for aquariums. I even like it better because it's a smaller grade.

The reason i can't make terrariums yet is I like to buy for 2.99 those little Angel Exoticas..........and i have been taking cuttings all afternoon on manyof them..........can't stand to use all the plants at once or even in three terrariums..............when i find them like i did today........it will only take 2 weeks to root them and then I will have plenty left to use again sometime.............

And, today, I also found some of the larger ones..............don't want that............so just cut back and start over with rooting them............

I am jealous that you all have not only started, but started big!!!

Oh good gessie... I know when to go for some when I can't find what I want round here...my stores don't seem to carry them much so i have to make a trip to kiss the grandbaby & shop down there...

You should do some terr's and planters to sell at the State Show.
I'd buy em...lol

You are too funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am not a professional...............just started on avs early this year.........but confess I have been gardening all my life.............propagating is my favorite thing...........when I get through with all my cuttings this evening, I will take a picture to show you how easy it is................when i get desperate...........i grow a particular pepperomia from leaf!!!!!!!!!!! They grow quickly..............

Hi Patti...

Love your new terrariums. I especially like the second container. The third container gave me an idea! I have one of those, and a new 'Unpredictable Valley' episcia that needs a "home"!

Those are beautiful! Funny thing is that I have a container exactly like your second one that is filled with soaps sitting in one of my bathrooms and I have been scouring all over the house looking for containers for terrariums. Completely over looked it! Duh!
