There is no such thing as upside-down...

...or downside-up when it comes to hoyas!!! This is H. lauterbachii I guess I rooted "upside-down'...anyone else do that? It always makes me laugh!!! Tenacious little devils, aren't they?

PS...that white stuff is NOT mealiebugs!!! It is a funny little lichen that grows on some of the leaves of the Eriostemmas that are climbing up the trees...especially when we have a lot of rain. It soon rubs off....

Carol I accidently rooted 3 of my hoyas upside down and they rooted all up and down the stems. Where as the ones right side up just rooted at the bottom. Has anyone else seen this?

Survival!!! Ain't it grand?!

I was thinking if you took a long cutting and planted it upside down and it rooted all along the stem. You could cut it up and make a fuller pot. Is that right?

Whatever works right?

I was thinking that too...if upside down gets more roots, heck, I'll pot them all upside down :)

3 of my last cuttings turned out that way. I took this plant and laid it flat against the dirt and pinned it down with hair pins. It should take off from each leaf.

I did that too, to my h. fraterna. Took quite a long time to show growth though, but now that it has, its just growing like crazy.
