I'm addicted to containers!

The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

I am new to Dave's and am loving all the beautiful pics of containers. My patio is just a slab all the way to the foundation and since finding this forum I have become addicted to containers. Thanks for all the inspiration...Rose

Rose Welcome from one Rose to another. As antique lover, I must say I like that milk can as a way to get some height for your pots, functional and good looking!

Thank you Rose! I love old stuff too. Here is an old wheat drill with some watermelons planted underneath. Next year I will plant different flowers in it!

Oh thank you Danasplants. I am encouraged!! What are earth boxes? It sounds like something I would like to try. Next year I want to get more height to the patio...if that makes sense. Thanks again...Rose.

gardnerme...thanks so much I love the wheat drill too. DH set it out there one day and now I'm trying to convince him that I need the very old manure spreader!! I've seen them planted in this area and they are beautiful. Will have to get a pic of one the next time I go to town..

Tplant...my goodness you have made my day. Thanks so much for the compliment...makes me want to do more and more and more!! I have just tried to use a lot of the junk that you find laying around a farm and it has been very rewarding to discover this new obsession. I must try and get some of those EB's...just gotta try everything at least once. Thank you again.

Rose, you are so creative! I have a milkcan plant stand I keep on my front porch... your chicken feeder brought to mind a hog feeder/planter I saw here.

Very cool recycling idea. I see them quite frequently rusting away on "abandoned" old farms. -B

The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

Thank you for the nice compliment AuntB. I really do prefer my containers to be old "has beens" ! Makes me want to go to the junk pile but will wait til winter when the copperheads have safely gone to sleep.

Thanks also for that link...I love that coleus tower. I want to do some towers next year and am looking for some junk to use. I must be addicted...I'm planning next year....Rose.

Thanks you gessiega! I showed your pics to DH hoping he will get busy and do some welding for me...now that he is retired. He brought some rebar home yesterday to make an arbor for my little pump house that I love. I will have to take pics when it is completed. I'm going to my favorite flea market in Springfield, Mo today to find more junk to play with. Tomorrow is yard saleing! So much to do...so little time! Thanks for looking.....Rose

Thank you Donna! When I think of all the good junk that has been hauled away in the past I just cringe. Now I'm lucky if I can buy the same stuff in the antique stores without paying an arm and a leg. I'm looking forward to seeing your pics. This is so much fun!
