Peach Tree Suddenly Distressed

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

My 10' peach tree, which bore a bumper crop this year, is suddenly drooping and losing all its leaves. Can anyone hazard a guess about why, or tell me what I should do about it? I'd hate to lose the tree, but it looks like it's dying. :(

How old is your tree? Peach trees have a short life span, I had one some time ago that did the same thing, a humomgous crop and then quit, I have friends who had the same experience too, they are very prone to disease.
I would say give it some compost, and water it if needed, it may recover.
It could also be from all the rains we have had.

It's only two years old and not even fully grown, so I'm sure it hasn't lived out its normal lifespan! I wondered if all the rain has drowned (or rotted?) the poor thing. Is there some fungus or something I should look for?

Peach trees require excellent drainage. With all the rain, it could very well be the problem.

Thanks! From the photos it looks like "leaf curl". The leaves have yellowed, curled, and dropped. Doesn't sound like there's an effective treatment once it happens... should I just sit back and wait to see if it survives?? I don't use poisons in my garden or yard, but I could spray it with an organic fungicide. I'd hate to lose this tree; I was astonished at the amount of fruit (and the size of the fruit) it produced this year.

I think organic fungicide would be O.K. at least you know you did something to help it.
