Does anyone have seeds from this hibiscus or, perhaps a cutting, or two, that they would be willing to send me for postage...let me know (I can pay in advance w/PayPal)???
Thank you for your kind consideration-

"Kopper King" Hibiscus...
Jan, mine has just started blooming, so I'm not sure how much use I'll be to you with it... I am thinking that it's probably a hybrid variety that won't come true from seed (although you could get something close, and probably you'd at least get something pretty). I intend to try taking dormant cuttings from it this fall, something I learned about last year *after* I'd pruned it back and tossed out the old branches! But I won't know the results of that until next spring, so hopefully somebody else will be able to help you out sooner. :-)
Why did you close this? I'd adore some Kopper King seed, and was waiting to see your responses!

Carrie, I won't deadhead my plant -- and we'll see what happens! :-)
Wheeee! No expectations, but it'll be a fun experiment.

Hi Carrie!
I "closed" it because I found a KK at a local nursery. I had bought two(!) from Park Seed a couple of years ago and neither of them survived :( Then, late last week, I found a healthy plant, 1' tall with three growing stalks so I snatched it up!!! I've never seen seeds for sale for the KK but, if mine blooms and sets seed, I will let you have first dibs at the seeds, OK?!
Happy Gardening-
Jan
Awesome, Jan! Thanks.

Check out my journal, I'm getting seeds now. I have one that looks like a king hopper. I'm not that picky with what type my hardies are. Traded for 7 different kinds last year, most unnamed. I'm going for a big bed of mutlicolored hardies. LOL. Would like to get my hands on maybe 20 different ones. Problem there is I have no idea what the seeds off these are going to look like. The ones in my journal are far enough away from each other so I think those will come true from seed. Maybe not though.
