dilemma

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

I have a Ronde de Nice Squash out there that matured virtually overnight. In fact, it looks perfect for picking, but I'm leaving for a 4 day trip in the morning. Normally I'd leave it on the vine, but after the growth spurt it had in the past 24 hours, I'm thinking it might get over ripe/over grown and be woody.

What would you do?

ROFL. Yes I doo... :) ROFL. Once you find my place, you're gonna want to come over for strawberries.. (plants still small)

Have not grown that one, but the similar Tonda di Nizza. Like all zukes they go from zero to sixty overnight. Four days is usually too much even from babies.

That's what I was afraid of. Dang!

On the upside, I did get to see my very first passi of the seson. I was so sure it would open as soon as pulled out of the driveway, and be gone when I returned.
