Cat fight wound

Hi all, my cat got into a cat fight this morning and whatever cat she tangled with gave her a nasty scratch across her eyelid. It is a bit swollen and hard for her to open her eye but she didn't protest when I opened it the see her eyeball. There is no damage, thank God, to the eyeball itself. We really can't afford to take her to the vet at the moment but will scrounge up the funds if it gets worse. Does anyone have home remedy ideas that would make her more comfortable until we figure out if it will heal on it's own or we have to take her in? I really love Layla and want to do what we can for her.

I know a responsible person without money shouldn't own animals but the financial situation is temporary so don't be too harsh please. If anyone has ideas I would love to try them! She has never gotten hurt before and loves to be outside. Whatever cat she met up against is one mean critter! We are going to try and keep her inside but I know it won't last long. It's like caging a wild beast. By this afternoon she will be saying, 'lemme out, lemme out!' Thanks!
