Okay, I have a passi (Think it is Passiflora lutea as I planted one here last year and haven;t seen it ever. Now this is growing in its spot) but the bottom 3 feet of the vine looks dead and then new growth comes out of the top. It makes it look ugly but afraid to cut off the good and replant next to the bad and shorten the bad stem. Let me get a picture but what should I do?

What happened to this leaf. it is towards the top of the yucky part of the vine. Next to it is a good leaf about 2 feet further up the vine
