I hope you have a scrumptious day doing all of your favourite things :-) --Ginny
Happy Birthday ViolaAnn!
I wish you many happy hours of gardening!

Have a great day, Ann!

Happy Birthday (sorry it's belated :S ) Ann!
Lilypon, you've got nothing to be sorry about. I missed this thread completely until Sandy D-mailed me and said I should take a look.
Thanks to those who extended birthday greetings.
We got back from Australia on Saturday evening. Didn't accomplish much on Sunday. Monday we got the grand twins for a week. OK, they are in day camp, but they are still staying here. And Monday evening, when I had planned a family dinner to celebrate the birthday (we'd been eating in restaurants for 3 weeks), I found out they had soccer practice from 5 - 6 on the other side of town near their house.
Changed the birthday dinner to yesterday, but had already made plans to drive up the valley and see Sandy's garden and also pick up a couple hostas from an exchange we did - I asked her to keep them while we were away. I had also asked her to look after a new mini which I got only a week before we left which needed some TLC. Wasn't sure it would still be alive when we got home, but figured its chances were better with her than with neighbours.
And when the kids have gone to sleep, I've been working on the viola because the Ottawa Symphony has an outdoor concert on Friday and I hadn't touched the instrument in a month. (I also had signed myself up to provide the music in church this coming Sunday.) Consequently, I hadn't made it onto the Canadian forum since we got back. I got Sandy's nudge just before I headed out to an orchestra rehearsal this evening; so now I'm catching up.
Sandy's gardens are spectacular. It's almost 2 years since I've seen them and I pledged to get out there a couple of times this year. She's done a lot of expansion in the last two years and has room for more. I'm a bit jealous. But I also know my ancient back wouldn't be able to look after as much garden as she has. LOL
When I haven't been practicing or driving grand-kids, or cooking, I've been slowly editing the hundreds of pics we took in Australia and I'll put up a thread when I finish.
Thanks again for birthday greetings.
Ann
Thanks for the compliment, Ann. I enjoyed your visit and the great natter we had about hostas and such. I'll be looking forward to the Australia thread!
Ann and I had a picnic down at the local Museum. Snapped her pic in front of the Perennial Garden before she had to fly home to pick up her grandtwins.
Sandy
Belated Happy Birthday Ann! Hope you had a lovely day and that it included some gardening!
