The upper bill seem to be darker than the lower. Pic doesn't show the over all olive green tint to the body.
CLOSED: Could these be Pine Grosbeaks?
#5 might be a Grosbeak, but the first four pictures are female Brown-headed Cowbirds
Agree with Claypa on Cowbirds, tho' scaly pattern indicates juveniles rather than adult females (sexes indistinguishable in juvs). Perched bird isn't clear, but might be a House Finch.
To see Pine Grosbeak in Calif, needs a trip to the high mountain treeline forests in the Sierra Nevada (and even there, it's rare).

Thanks. Every time I thought I knew what they were (cow bird was one of the choices) something wouldn't fit and I would change my mind.
