CLOSED: Wanted: Passion Vine

Texas/Okla central b, United States(Zone 7b)

I would like a good sized rooted start. My minister collects biblical related plants and has been trying to find one locally with no help. I can trade coral honeysuckle vine or other plants of intrest on my trade list....Or for postage

Athens, OH

Let me check. I potted up several and put them in my pond. They are growing happily. I'll see if they are well rooted.
They are the hardy Maypop (P. incarnata).

PS I'd love some Callirhoe involucrata.

They are definitely rooted but they are not "well rooted yet".

If you can't get one from someone else I will be happy to check again in a few weeks and send the plant if is is well rooted by them.

I have maypop, but it does seem like it takes awhile for the plant to recover after moving it (at least when I have). It can get pretty invasive, quickly around here. If you'd like me to dig some, let me know, especially if you have any hardy water lilies. Thanks

Tropicana , I have tons of the water lily "gladstone" in earthen ponds unfortunately from our monsoons this year I am unable to get to them to dig. I will happily share when the water and the snakes recede.
Invasive is not a problem, my minister wants to grow it in container pots on his deck. God is his first passion and unusual plants are his second. He can't find a start locally so he asked me to see if I could find him this plant on the internet as he is not really computer savvy.

Rox.....I have plenty of small rooted plants of the wine cups I can dig for you...and I can wait some for the passion vine, or if you would wrap them in wet peat moss I can continue to root....

If ya"ll are into tall bearded iris I am hosting a secret trade to start the first part of August. I invite you both to come over and sign up.......gonna be fun

Athens, OH

I am afraid that with the heat it wouldn't make it if I sent if now.
But it is yours. I'll plan to send it the end of the month.

Sure, sign me up for the iris trade!

jackie, I could send you the maypop and wait on the gladstone lilies if you'd like. It will be this weekend before I can send, anyway...tons of maypop literally getting ready to enter the front door after taking over the porch...lol

I have a gallon passion vine, but I don't know which it is. I bought it at the tribal nursery a couple of months ago, and don't plan to plant it. Or did you already settle this? :-)

Citra, FL(Zone 9a)

I'm interested in your Beautyberry and perhaps wine cups (I already have some, but just love them). I have agastache tutti fruitti, and Apache Sunset, but those in the fall as they are blooming happily now and not to be disturbed. Tutti Fruitti is more than 6' tall (I have great dirt). Maybe Casa Blanca and Stargazer lilies, if they do well this summer.

How about dogwood? I'm not sure if I can find a seedling, but probably seeds. They are native here. (biblical related)

Tropicana: It may be a year or more before my ponds are down enough for me to wade out for the water lilies....I don't want you to wait that long for a trade. If you will ask me again in the spring I will see if they are accesssable then.
4Paws: I have tutti frutti but I would love some apache sunset when you can move some. I will check today for a small mailable sized beauty berry.and some wine cup seedlings..our soil is too alkaline here for dogwood to florish...still looking for passion vine

Rox, I"ll see about some starts for the wine cups

Shall I hold the passion vine until the agastache is ready to send, too? I think I can get the Passion Vine in a flat rate box. I'll leave the foliage a much as possible, though you will likely have to trim it back a lot.

It could be a very hot trip for it.
