I have some of my best garden pics on flickr.

I am sure we would all love to see yours if you have them-nice to see the whole garden rather than just one shot.
Anyone with flickr photos of their gardens?
Beautiful garden! Thanks for the tour. :-)
I really enjoyed the tour. Can't wait for Summer to arrive....
Cactuspatch! Awesome garden tour! It is absolutely beautiful where you live. And i was so happy to see a fellow quilter! I love quilting. Your quilts are beautiful. The garden here is starting to settle into its summer pattern, so I am starting to get the quilting bug again. I fluctuate between the two.
Thanks again!
Colleen
Colleen--thanks for you kind comments. I do love living here. I can't pick a hobby either! I have been gardening since I was 3 and quilting only since '88 so I guess the garden is closer to my heart. I don't do much quilting in the spring or fall as they are lots of garden chores and I love to sit out and just watch the butterflies and birds. The weather is very pleasant then. But once summer gets her it is too hot to stay out past about 10am so I am inside then. I try and work on piecing one or 2 days weekly. I get more actual quilting done in the winter. I guess if I lived where the winter was long I would get more quilting done. I took my first quilt class from a woman who is now one of my closest friends. She moved to NM from Green Bay, WI.
Nice to meet quilters along the way!
Great tour, and your photography is wonderful, too! You have some very happy-looking kitties.....
Cactus, that is neat. It is such a small world. I try really hard to squeeze time in for quilting, but its so hard. I have so many projects I want to do and my favorite thing to quilt is, of course, flowers! I went into my quilt stash last night and realized I literally have 30 kits waiting for me to do... mostly wool applique with pieced backgrounds... so I really have to get cracking! My sister is a huge fan of southwestern and I know she would appreciate the southwestern quilt I saw in the picture.
Imapigeon-thanks and they should be happy kitties, they are spoiled to death!
Colleen, I have a lot of kits waiting too. And even more plastic bins of homemade "kits" waiting to be started, finished tops to be quilted. Never can pass a quilt shop or nursery and need to cut back on both! Not enough time right? LOL!
Actually I'm not much for shopping lately, but in the past I think I overdid it a bit!
Beautiful photos. Everything looks so lush, and colorful.
cactuspatch,
I don't know how I missed this thread before but I'm glad I stumbled upon it. I don't know which is more beautiful, the garden, the house, the surrounding landscape, or your photography. I'll keep this thread in my favorites to view during the up coming winter.
Your garden is such a delightful balance. The placement of plants is perfect.

Holy cannoli, that was stunning!
Thanks for your kind comments. I was really hoping there would be some more DG members with photos of their gardens online.
Cactuspatch, my garden doesn't stand up to yours, nor do my photos, but I did start adding some pictures here back in the Spring. It will be several years before I get this project where I'm trying to take it: http://landscaping.com/ls/view/11/
Wow! Thanks wrightie. Those are great photos and I love that statue of the bird girl. I keep thinking of getting one for my yard.
Wrightie, I like the repeating of the blue colors in the pots, house and plants, VERY nice!
Castuspatch, those blue larkspur are incredible!!! What variety are they? I worry about any plant very tall were I live because we get such high wind gusts. I LOVE them!
wrightie, what are the golden yellow flowers in the bird girl photo? Are they wallflower?
Thanks, kidz. I'm looking forward to the day that it fills in.
Yes, PrimroseSue, those are wallflowers which came from a shady seed mix that I scattered around the bed a couple years ago.
psychw2, I am sorry to say that I don't really know that variety of larkspurs. You see I bought a package of seeds (most likely at Walmart) years ago that had white, pink and purple larkspurs. I just let them reseed every year. When I knew I was moving I collected seeds. They didn't grow more than about 12-14 inches tall at my old house and for some reason they seem to be getting taller here. The poppies just happened to reseed there so I loved that combo that was Mother Nature's surprise for me this spring.
Well Mother Nature was KIND to you!!! Because it is a wonderful combination!
Just wanted to share this link to photos a family member took of my garden on Thanksgiving Day. We got a light snow that afternoon, and those photos will likely be the last blooms until next Spring.

Mmm - just the full view of all of the pics is gorgeous enough - the colors are harmonious enough that it would be a beautiful collage. Thanks for posting that!
cactus, is snow typical for your area? It's hard to imagine snow in New Mexico!
Aw Sue, you're just thinking desert=hot. Remember, Taos (ski resort?) is in NM, and Albuquerque is surrounded by the Sandia range that often gets snow....
We don't get snow where I live that sticks too often. However I am just about 30minutes down the mts. from a ski resort. So yes we get snow. The eastern plains of southern NM got 2-7 inches over Thanksgiving. They are over the mt. from us. If you looked at my flickr photos from the first post, there is a photo of my front yard with snow last January.
