I keep hearing that this is a great herb to grow, I cant seem to find it here in Des Moines (yet) , do you grow Walkers Low Cat mint?
Cat mint "Walkers Low"
It is very easy to grow but can get floppy if it gets too much water. I should say that some websites say that it is about 10" but they are WRONG. It's named for a place in England and grows about 2 to 2 1/2 feet.
I prefer Blue Wonder for the color of the flowers and the long flowering time, but it can also get floppy with too much water.
Thanks for the Info Mobi, I'll see if I can find Blue Wonder - I may have to order on line.

If you are looking for a larger catmint, I say go with the Walker's low, if your looking for a smaller one, use the Blue Wonder, though mine has grown larger than the 12" they say it's supposed to grow. People always ask me what the blue wonder is during the spring because it is so blue. If you want a HUGE catmint - go with the six hills giant, though it might take over!
If they do get floppy, I cut them back and they come back nicely.
Also bees LOVE all catmint. And my cats have been known to sleep in the center of them.
Bluestone sells them both. I usually wait until late spring when they have their 1/2 off sale but you might be able to find both of them at another place, cheaper than their everyday prices. I have used Bluestone for years and I think they have the best customer service I have ever encountered with a plant place. Their plants are small but they will replace them if you have any problem with them.

Thanks again, I have a few empty spots along my chain link fence that need some attention - my heirloom Mornng Glory's from last summer choked a few perenials out - I've been pulling out all but '2' little start's of the MG since spring. I'll check out Bluestone.
