New here

Dallas, GA

I just found this site. Neat place. Well I'm from NW GA and have been keeping chickens for about 5 years. We have 23 pullets about 17 weeks old that have just started laying. I have Dellies, a Black Sex link, a Buff Rock, a White leghorn, Red sex links, and Barred Rocks. I want to get Ameraucanas next but DH said I need to slow down. Anybody need a Black Cochin?

Hello hisbride,

I'm not to far from y'all up in Rome. I raised chickens as a kid and just recently started again with 28 day old chicks. They're about 10 weeks old now and doing good. They've been getting fat and sassy recently because I've been feeding them most of a crop of sweet corn that was ruined by worms.

It's funny that you should mention Black Cochins. As a kid my favorite hen was a black Cochin. Because she was so gentle, I ordered 3 Black Cochin roosters to go with my 25 assorted laying hens.

Why are you getting rid of one?

Here's a pic of some of mine at 6 weeks.

Welcome hisbride, You'll love it here! Seems that we are getting more and more Georgians everyday!
Jeff, your Chicks are great! You won't regret getting back into the chicken culture at all!
Oh Im jealous of the White crested black Polish! I was supposed to have two and when they started to grow their crests, I found that they were just black crested and both Hens! They are healthy and sweet , but I really wanted white crested!

You can see the couple of white feathers in their topknots, makes them look kinda mean!
