oh, i am so excited....such a big victory dance...my bromeliad has
4 babies....this is my first one....so i am not sure what to do ....
do i just keep on keepin on with the same care? when do i get
those kids out? thanks so much:)

Do you know what type of bromeliad? If the babies are small continue the care you have been doing...if they are growing from the base when they get to about a third of the size of the mother plant you can get a nice sharp serrated steak knife (or pruning shears) and cut as close as you can get to the base of the mother plant, saw off the offset and pot up in a small pot nice potting soil with bark chips or some perlite, for light good draining soil. don't water for a few days...the main plant will die, but may give you more offsets...good luck! sue
thanks for the answer...it is the run of the mill brom...i have never grown them...it has about 5 of 6 off shutes....so i will wait till they are 1/3 the size of the mom...i am so sad that the mom will die....but am excited that i am getting babies....
