cedarnest...............I am going to try something and see if it works..........I didn't realize how many babies you get when you grow a leaf........I am going to send some through the mail and you tell me if they are still alive............this way I will know if they travel or not.......can't stand to throw them away but always have too many............

They are little tiny but let's try,..........there is South Shore Rose, Trail Along, Steel Blue, and a Russian one..........and they still need to be divided some more......(LOL).

Lacewing1...................welcome.................are you new to the AV forum or is a 'little dementia' setting in on me???????

i Gail

Thanks for the welcome. I'm sorta new here, been here for a little while, but seldom post. I just enjoy learning from all you great growers and looking at all the wonderful pictures. Thanks for showing me your red semi-minis on the thread I posted. No one else has chimed in yet. I want to order some, but I just can't make up my mind. They used to get some at Lowes, wish they still did.

Let me ask you if you have learned how to grow from leaves.............i can send you soooooo many leaves and you can't fail if you follow the directions from www.rachelsreflections.com

Would you like to try? Sometimes i can send plants but right now i have so many projects going in which I use the ones I grow..............go look how Rachel starts leaves..........either in straight vermiculite or a combination of vermiculite and perlite.........now i can send solo cups and everything you need to get started (including the mix of vermiculite and perlite..............along with a couple of corsage boxes (clear plastic that the solo cups go in with the leaves to keep them humid until the babies are ready to be planted up)

If you decide to order a few let us know.............it is the weekend and things are slow on this forum..................but during the week it is hopping and many out there know so much more than I do about suggesting which ones to order.............

I didn't mean I couldn't send some babies like these, but if you haven't grown African violets , they will be shaky and tender for a while (much smaller plants than when you order them)

Gail, thank you for your kind and generous offer. I am not ready to take on that endeavor. I have very limited space and zero patience. I know how much you enjoy doing that . It is just not for me. LOL I want my plant grown and blooming. Terrible, aren't I, oh well. Yes, I'll wait for more responses before I order.
