Gotta be an Alocasia

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

But I don't know anymore than that :) Sorry this first one is so fuzzy.

A nursery owner in Western NC was kind enough to gift me with this tuber when I visited...as you can see, there's growth popping out all over. I'll have a few pics to help with ID cause it's just starting to leaf out.

where it meets the dirt.

My luck with Alocasias has not been great, so any advice (hardiness)would be much appreciated. The leaves are upright, so it's probably A. Mac

Thanks Brian, Hmmmm....definitely not hardy then. From what plantfiles says they're compact so I guess that's good if it has to stay in the greenhouse

Athens, OH

They make great house plants! I put mine in the ground every Spring and pot them up again right before the 1st frost.

They like being next to a sunny window and aren't as susceptible to spider mites and aphids.
It won't get tall but boy will it get bushy!

They are considered one of the hardiest Alocasias but probably won't overwinter in Zone 7b.
